Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has apologized to the public, bowing to more than a week of mass protests by furious residents over a proposed extradition bill that would allow people to be extradited to mainland China for trial. But whether she will stay in the job as Hong Kong Executive is still in doubt. The people are still shouting louder than ever that they want her to step down. How will Beijing react to the massive protests?

sad that people comment without understanding the situation OF the HK economy is under. HK is used to be 30 per of the chines economy when it was handed back to China in 1997. it now is only 2 per of the Chinese economy. the financial center of the city is under the control of chines rich people. HK has nothing except IT the want be the financial center of China which is impossible UNDER the current situation. Shanghai is the financial center of China. Shanghai is richer and dynamic city than HK, HK prosperity is all gone in 1997 with the British. China has more confidence in itself now than in 1997. HK was sleeping for that last 30 years when Chinese was working hard. Shangai's more important to China than HK. HK people think that they are important to China, no way. it has its time 80-90, not now. British will not save HK. British by itself depend on China… so, whatever the HK feels about itself, it will not AFFECT CHINA.

The leader of the protesters are getting pay by the US NGO.

The mainland supplies 80% of power, and 80% of fresh water. HK doesn't want to become a haven for criminals, such as the law now allows. Why don't you report what the law was trying to do?
