Tactus Phorm Overlays Typing Keys On Small Screens

Share this article on social media.

Tactus recently launched it’s first product, the Phorm case for iPad mini. Tactus co-founders Dr. Craig Ciesla and Dr. Micah Yairi developed a technology that generates physical keys from a flat surface on demand, giving you a smooth, unbroken surface for general touch-based interaction, and a physical keyboard when you need one. Phorm is available for pre-order now with a target launch date of summer 2015 for the first crop of batch of devices.

What might be interesting would be a color eink/oled touchscreen surface with this Tactus tech. Instant configurable keyboard.

Thanks for not showing the screen a single time while you move the slider. I bet that's the first thing you looked at when you held it in person.

they should next make it to form braille. it would help those visually-impaired use tablets for reading and text messaging.
