1) No hate against those players but just based on IPL performance and ODI, T20I performance they shouldn't be selected for tests.
In my view Gill is not yet set for tests, he has to fight for his place and Jaiswal is no where in the picture. He has just begun his international career, let him play some more ODIs and T20Is and get acclimatized to the overseas conditions. Bringing him straight away in an SA tour where Ind hasn't yet won even a single trophy was a very bad decision.
Pujara and Rahane (has superior average in overseas than home) are still not finished and if they really want to do away with experienced and out of form players then they should give chance to similar players like Sarfaraz (has 2nd highest 1st class average after Bradman) and Easwaran who have performed really well in past ranji trophies (test format).
2) Shardul is a little overrated as he struggles to bowl good lengths consistently. His batting is also not consistent (but it is at least better than his bowling).
3) Aswin is a legend but if the conditions doesn't favor then he remains under utilized.
4) Mukesh debuted for India against West Indies in the tests and now suddenly we have another debut in the form of Prasidh Krishna. Ummi and Unadkat still remains as contenders amidst having a good record in tests. Looks like beyond Bumrah, Shami and Siraj there is no one in the fast bowling department that the BCCI puts it's trust on.
