Are you kidding? We used to run off for a week at a time as kids, in Washington. Whoopty doo, 24 hours. In summer too, can't even get hypothermia. Glad she's back.

Adults with children should walk with the children between the adults on the trail. An adult in the front of the kids and an adult at the back of the line. Don't let your kids out of sight in the wilderness. A cougar can grab and take off with a child in seconds.

Perhaps being left alone for 24 hours remind her more of Afghanistan than the Washington wilderness does.
Just wait until her parents kick her out when sheβs 18. Then sheβll ready have to survive.
