I knew the kid mentioned in the video, and have a few things to say. First of all, he did not create the plan for the shooting, another friend of his did, except the suspect wanted to carry it out. Second of all, his parents had nothing to do with this. He was radicalized by “internet extremists”. The only thing his parents did wrong was not lock up their gun. The suspect lives in a normal household, although he struggles with paranoia and mental health. Honestly, all of this is all an overreaction, as the kids only 13 years old. The government truly is disgusting.

This 13 year old’s parents have utterly FAILED at their parental duties to raise a child who will be a productive member of society, a benefit to others, rather than a burden. In fact, we’re seeing an increase in the number of young criminals because so many parents are failing at their parental responsibilities. Too many parents are focused solely on themselves, and letting social media raise their offspring. When I had my children, my wants and desires took a back seat, because I had a responsibility to raise my children with values that would be a benefit to society, and them and their needs became my priority. It was all about them, and not about me anymore. For years they petitioned me to get them a cell phone, because “everybody else has one”, and they were the only children in their school who didn’t have a cell phone (I doubt that). I held my ground, and I’m glad I did. Because social media didn’t have an opportunity to corrupt their young minds. Today, I look at my children, and I’m proud of the young adults they have become, who are mindful, respectful, responsible, and show compassion for others. I can’t even begin to fathom raising a child so poorly that at 13 they plan a mass múrder based on their hatred any people group, let alone the Jewish people who contribute so much to society. If you’re going to be a lousy parent, and shirk your duties to raise your child properly, don’t become one. Leave parenting to the adults who actually do love their children enough to raise them with good morals, and values that make the world a better place. All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children. I always considered my parental role as a blessing from God, and as such, I had a duty to raise them to know God, YHVH incarnate in Jesus Christ, and I was not going to fail God with the responsibility He had entrusted to me. It’s a shame more parents don’t look at their role as mother, or father, from this perspective.
I doubt the parents directly put such thoughts in the kid’s head. It’s more likely that social media created this. However, the parents obviously weren’t monitoring the kid’s internet use, and they are responsibly for that. Please monitor your kids phones and computers. They WILL find horrible things.
