The case pits 16 young Montanans against the state in the first constitutional climate trial in US history. Attorneys for the plaintiffs argued that the state’s pro-fossil fuel policies endanger their health and livelihoods while also threatening future generations. State officials, meanwhile, contend that Montana’s contributions to global warming are a drop in the bucket compared to other polluters and that they should not be held accountable. Nate Bellinger, an attorney with the non-profit Our Children’s Trust which brought the case, and Olivia Vesovich, one of the young plaintiffs, join 5 Things to share their perspectives.

  1. What a farce with a bunch of brats. How do you measure climate change. the court did not address that at all.
The incompetent court did not examine existing smog laws that the beasts are uninformed of. that's the lawyers frauds against the court.
People have been using fossil fuels since the beginning of time.

  2. Bat shit crazy judge and complainant. All emotion, no facts, reason or logic. Junk ruling 100% will be thrown out on appeal as it should be

  3. Success! A turn in the right direction.

  4. Imagine kids glued to tik tok actually being aware? I wonder who gave them these talking points. I specifically liked one of the young plaintiffs vacationing in Cali. I'm sure none of those bad fossil fuels were used for the vacations!
Have to love the generation of "You can't have a carbon footprint but I will!" And "We want to save the planet by producing electric cars that need raw material dug up which destroys the plant." Or even "Our power grid infrastructure is degraded, let's add a ton of electrical demand with these electric cars so we can up our coal mining production!"
Ignorance is bliss, bless these youth and let them retain that ignorance as long as possible!

  5. Good on those 16 youths in Montana

Imagine allowing minors to bring this utter shit to court.
