Does stuff like this happen in other neighboring countries, like in Europe or Asia? I don't have worldwide news but just wonder what crime in Mexico is like compared to other countries. Does Mexico not have police or is that country run by drug cartels with guns? I do know that they have lots of people who leave that country to come here. It seems like most of the immigrants to the US are from Mexico vs other countries and I don't know if other countries have so many people from one country coming into their country. Could be that they didn't want to pay the "cartel border fee " and try to elude the them . Cartels pick vehicles at random and demand a fee to cross into "their" territory anywhere from $600 USD up to 1K or more depending on what your vehicle looks like then proceed to give you a password or key word you can use down the road but only works in their turf. Down the road in another cartel territory well that's another story.
