Going for Veda Krishnamurthy was a poor choice as she is replacing S. Meghana; it is not improving the team composition. I don't like either of those. Uma Chetry would have been better for GG; even if she scores 20, she does so at a high strike rate and she is a backup keeper for Mooney. Veda and Meghana cannot score at anything better than a run a ball.
Per Mithali Raj, "Phoebe Litchfield was picked because she is flexible in the batting order AND she can also keep wickets if needed." You will notice that GG does not have another backup keeper. You can think of her as Beth Mooney's like for like replacement if there is an injury. This is the reason why Chamari Attapattu lost out.
