I never worried that one day my children would go to school and be shot dead. But then I with my children live in Australia where the average person does not have readily access to guns. Some ignore the laws we have in place and may have an illegal weapon but usually the only persons walking around with guns are our police. Is it time to change America, we did.

Assault weapons don't belong in civilian hands. There's no reason to have them. You can't hunt with them, and you could always make it legal and safe to rent one at a shooting range to have an appropriate place to shoot one. We need gun control. But the AK 15 pin wearing MAGAs and Republicans love their guns more than their kids. They won't do anything until it's their kid lying on a slab in the morgue. They should be made to tour a mass shooting site BEFORE the bodies have been moved and the blood washed away, then go to the morgue and have to look at what an AK 15 does to a child's body. Maybe then it would change their thinking, but only if they had a conscience, empathy, intelligence, heart and soul. And it's truly doubtful if any of them do.

So sad.. there was a news report that the shooter messaged a former classmate. She reported it but the police did not respond to her until after the shooting. If their response had been more diligent maybe this tragedy could have been prevented.
