Hate crimes were invented by Federal government to make points with certain voters. If you murder some one and get life or death sentence, why waste millions of tax dollars to "get" them again. I've noticed that only "white men" get charged with hate crimes and that after acquitted at state level very often.

What Ahmaud Arbery did is classified as a "Class C Misdemeanor." In other words, if the police had caught him inside that house, they would not have arrested him. They simply would've told him to leave and not come back. They also would've asked to see his driver's licenses. That's all that would've happened. Arbery was seen on the surveillance video five different times, and not once was he seen stealing anything! The McMichaels are full of schitt.

They had no clue that their beliefs and behavior is and was completely wrong. They sit in their prison cells thinking how unbelievable their situation is and have no clue how they got where they are. And still, no thoughts about Ahmaud. Only themselves and their own families. The gravity of their actions is still nowhere in sight. It will be several years before they realize. Whatβs happening with the original prosecutor? Are they being held accountable in any public way, other than losing their jobs?
Ahmaud's incredible mother made it clear that, contrary to the statement made in this interview, this case does NOT signal how the DOJ is feeling and stepping up on hate crime cases. The DOJ originally pushed for a deal that would have benefitted the murderers by allowing them to spend their first 30 years in a more comfortable federal prison. It was only because Ahmaud's family fought and would not stand down, that we have the verdict we have today.
