The ole Widowmaker strikes again, on another note we had 3 of those contraptions come to our town the other day to refuel, pretty neat to see them in operation, it prompted me to look up their price, 71 million dollars, that's just insane!! No airplane should cost that much.
When you have these kind of casualty numbers from equipment in training… Multiple it by 100 in a conventional war. The Osprey has been known as the widow maker at the very least since 2012 when I was getting out.
When they don't allow the President to ride in an aircraft there is probably something wrong with that aircraft!

If a commercial aircraft had this kind of safety record, the FAA would ground these helicopters.

Everything they touched turns to disasters or malfunctions in their Policy making, their economy, Trade, infrastructures, medical, education, technology, social orders, housing, etc…etc….the endless list of US failures of disasters. The more earnest US blames it's failures on China, the more disastrous would US invites upon themselves.

More people have died in Blackhawk mishaps (970) then the Osprey. Between 1981 and 1984 there were 16 crashes involving a Blackhawk and in the last decade more than 60 people have died in the BlackHawk versus 27 since 2007 for the Osprey. For some reason the Osprey has never shaken off its reputation even though the BlackHawk has more fatalities.
Why do we keep using these things exactly? Glad the army never used them. Is a helicopter not enough for a Marine?

My grandfather was a pilot. Flew for nearly 40 years up until his untimely death at 73. He swore off ever stepping foot on an Osprey, despite multiple opportunities to do so. They aren't safe.
