WHAT…Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 30 to 35 below zero.
WHERE…Marathon, Portage, Wood, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, Vilas, Florence, and Forest Counties.
WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to Noon CST Friday.
IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 minutes.

Ok pro tip, it’s not legal but could save lives in the event of an emergency. Let some air out of tires to create more surface area for traction, 5 psi less than max should do, then, Zip ties. If you have them, and need to travel, wrap them around your tires. Equal spaced, snug. They will act like tire chains. Keep the connecting end of zip tie towards center of tire(away from rubber) this will help with traction on black ice, but not solve it. Drive slow.
