Tens of millions of Americans are under air quality alerts due to smoke from fires in Canada. For the second day in a row, New York City recorded the worst air quality in the world among major cities. NBC News’ Emilie Ikeda has the details on what health experts are saying.

Novel idea- burn the air to vaporize the particulates
It simple, stop the tree hugging, cut down the dead/weak trees help clear the forest floors and wildlife will be minimized! Mother nature gave us this to use, not to protect! If we don't use it, she'll take it back!

I live in BC, and we’re prone to wildfires every year, but it’s unbelievably bad this year. As someone who has experience with wildfire smoke: drink lots of water, do not exercise outdoors, avoid outdoors in general and try to wear masks if you can. Stay safe!

From a Canadian … we have edge-to-edge forest/wild fires from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic. Our country is on fire, and we're evacuating whole towns & small cities … we are ALL so very sorry for how this has affected other people, especially our favourite people, the New York City people (but everyone else too!!).
About 4 weeks ago it was only Alberta ablaze… and our air quality was just as bad as NYC right now. My nose burned from the smoke, we're about the size of the UK & had over 100 fires out of control in a heavily forested zone (about half of Alberta) and we ALL should have been wearing masks to protect ourselves from the ash/soot (it rained down on my car every day & night & I would have to use windshield wipers to wipe the ash off so I could see to drive!).
Please, USA friends, accept our apologies for this. We've had less rain in each forest zone for over 15 years now … we're doing our best to put them out & are very sorry that our southern friends are affected (and, we believe, the lower-income & disadvantaged people down there are having this worse … please help your fellow city- & town-mates, regardless of their income status. Keep INSIDE until this is over! I have a horrible cough, because of how bad it was … I thought staying inside was enough but I should have been wearing an N95 mask!

Just think of how us Canadians feel in the thick of it. It not good for either side of the border. Just a few weeks ago here in Alberta we were going through the same thing and the smoke from our fires was felt all the way to the UK.

Prepare for another lock-down. These smokey fires are a military operation. Then a bunch of other things are going to happen at the same time. This is intentional by the powers that be. They said it themselves. How could they know?

Salut! i live in Canada province of Québec , Québec city! and we don't have yours orange sky! we don't smell smoke but we have clound sky! but sorry for the fires! it out of ours hands! hot and dry weather is the reasons put mask please! thank you! have a nice weekend
