This is absolutely disgusting for the police to wait more than an hour to do action! 1 shooter versus 150 police officers! Unbelievable!
I bet the shooter killed himself .. has any one interviewed the borderpatrol agents who claim to have shot the gunman? This is completely unacceptable
I understand the frustration because the officers did not respond swiftly as they should to get to the shooter but no one is angry about the teacher who irresponsibly left the locked door opened!!!! That teacher is just as responsible as the officers who waited

What ever happened somethings you just can't control..sad that these children lost their lives but people need to understand that u can't just jump into a room. With a shooter cuz u can make the situation worse you can't save kids that are in a room with a shooter u it's not an easy task

The teachers and school failed every preventable security measure, so they could access the teachers parking lot easier. The door was held open by a large rock, this is not the only time they have propped that door open. Its texas policy to lock all down including classroom doors, the only person with brains enough to close and lock doors was the shooter….
All classrooms are to be locked as well, texas law. The teachers left multiple doors open.
If teachers paid attention to locking doors as per policy, instead of pronouns and rainbow flags the only death would be the shooter…

WOW!!!! Now we are learning that this small town actually has a SWAT team and they were totally unprepared and were not able to act immediately!!!!!
Petition to remove those police and elected official's for dereliction of duty!!! That Governor, the mayor, sheriff, and those police officer's should be removed their public offices and duties immediately!!!.

I agree all those kids and 2 teacher and one of the teachers husband passed away why did that happen with the police where there it's not rigbt
He shot at windows before even entering. I wish some of those teachers had the capability of some of ours. We have teachers that volunteered to have a full mental health screening, background check, and the same training with firearms officers have to pass so they could have a firearm locked up near them in the event of an active shooter. Our school doors have keypad entry with a call button and cameras are installed throughout the school. No one is allowed to know who the staff are that carry for their safety and prevent someone from planning around them if they decided to try something like this. None of our kids know who they are and never see the weapons. There is also an armed deputy on campus with his own office at all times when students are there to include after hours. Some people say it's extreme but is it really? Try to get into a government building armed like this. A lot of politicians, high profile public figures, and celebs have higher security than this and no one says a word. Their own kids and families have protection. Why do our nation's school children deserve any less?
Who should be held responsible for this breakdown? Gun law makers should.

I'm just speechless, and so heart broken about this whole thing, police get there 4 minutes after shooter entered school, you mean to tell me they could not hear when the shots were going off and everybody in there had to know what room he was in,! didn't the room have outside windows,? why could they not have taken the shooter down thru the windows,? back door propped open, smh, school security officer, out at the doughnut shop or something, almost an hour waiting for the border patrol to come for "'ONE ONLY MAN" AND THERE WERE 100'S OF ARMED TO TO TEETH OFFICERS ON SCENE,!, parents begging them to do something for an hour, 911 calls coming in all the time from kids and teachers pleading for help, I'm sorry I'm just at a loss here on this whole thing, poor babies, thoughts and prayers for all that were effected, and please don't say "WHERE IS GOD"?, he's been ran out of the schools too,

The governor of Texas said that we should all do our part to help with the contribution of those families that lost loved ones. He is asking the community to do what law-enforcement would not do. Basically he is passing the buck. What is the purpose of a police force if they can’t protect our children?

All the officers who lied need to be fired and convicted for being incompetent. This is infuriating because training was supposed prevent this massacre. Screwed this up royalty.

The school should have been in lockdown in 30 sec due to the shots through the windows from outside!! Then that propped opened door would have been checked and closed.
The resource officer should have been on campus. An active shooter in the parking lot should have resulted in officers on scene!
No reason to have men in armed tactical gear inside the school if they are unable to unlock a door and engage a shooter!! Give the teachers the right to bear arms and they will take out the shooters!!
