Perhaps a moment when everyone involved learned something; the kid has learned what not to do when trying to open a bottle cap, and the rest of us learned the importance of learning basic rescue strategies, like the Heimlich, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, etc.
My 12 year old did the heimlich on my 9 year old two years ago when she choked on her dessert after supper. The rest of us had left the table. We had to take her in for an Xray, and she had a broken rib. Still, all of my kids are CPR and first response qualified just for this reason. My friend's dad died from choking three years ago due to no one in the house knowing how to properly help. So, I never want that to happen again.

America needs to wake up and see that companies like Disney and Apple and others who are lying and misinforming people.
Here is an example. Both Disney and Apple, and others are trying to put out a false narrative regarding the education bill in Florida. They want you to believe that it is an anti gay bill. While that is furthest from the truth. It is a bill to protect children ages 3 thru 10 from receiving sex education in kindergarten to 5th grade. Also protecting parents in having a say what their children are taught in school at those ages. Sadly Disney, and Apple along with others and mainstream media are using this for their own agenda. Where is all their concern with the slavery that is occurring in China? Ohh right. Disney and Apple use the slave labor. They make a lot of money with China. Which is all they really care about. What hypocrites.
Teachers unions and school boards are attempting to indoctrinate our kids. Using CRT to divide kids from their parents. Sex education at the ages 3,4,5,6, etc. behind their parents backs.
Wake up people. These are our children.

Are all teachers trained with CPR and the Heimlich? I had to be to become a massage therapist. The law required it. But Idk if it's the same for teachers. It's my personal belief that everyone should be trained in first aid. While I was training in Chicago, my entire class witnessed a guy get hit by a car as we were taking our half-hour dinner break. My teacher ran out into the road to check on the guy as another student called 9-1-1. I'd had already crossed the road, so I was too far to be of any assistance without getting in the way. But I watched my teacher perform CPR until EMTs arrived and all of us did what we could to keep pedestrians from getting too close. People were really good about staying out of the way though.

Do better please – great story – follow up with how to do it. Every kid could need this certificate so why isnโt it part of daily exercising. 5 mins after anthem – this is how we do it – itโll become nature.

Adults doing what they were trained to do, once again. Remember the days when heros went above and beyond their actual job duties? Now, you get credit for going to work and being able to just accomplish a full day without screwing it up. ๐
