Being a flagship is not merely some sort of prestigious fancy ceremonial title, left over from older times. It's loss is not merely going to have some effect on morale. Much more than that, important though it is the flagship can be thought of as being analogous to the Queen on a chess board. It is the centre of power around which strategic aims are formulated and tactics and battle plans are developed. Hence it is equipped with sophisticated and very powerful communication systems and would have Intel analytic capability to collect, and assess battle info as it comes in giving the ability to alter strategy and tactics in accordance with needs in real time. When it is destroyed the efficiency of the remainder of the fleet is seriously diminished, as it is reduced to acting as uncoordinated individual ships operating half blind at best, but probably even worse than that. Face it, with the command, control and communications and Intel Centre lying on the seabed, there is no longer a viable fleet able to give the best support to each other, leaving them vulnerable to the very real possibility of being picked off one by one and not a damn thing they can do about it except full steam ahead back toward where they came from, while hoping there will still be an oiler at rendezvous to refuel them. The loss of Moscva is much more than a blow to morale and an embarrassing black eye for the Russian navy. It is a serious setback. If flag ops have been transferred to another vessel, unless that vessel is equipped to the same standard as the Moscva was, the flag officers and their staffs will face extreme functional difficulty.
I made a similar comment about the fact that both side of military forces were trained together. I said that the Ukrainian forces were using tactics that they were taught by the Russians against them
BTW, also apparently those 2 Neptune cruise missiles that were responsible, were actually 'born-and-bred' right in Ukraine (and also precision-guided with the likely help of strategic intel from the U.S. and NATO)

I would not overestimate this loss on the strength of Russians fleet in that Black Lake area. Black is the lake not sea. Look at the map. One lost ship cannot change the course of history. Look how many ships England lost during the WWII and still was capable to control Kriegsmarine movements on the sea .
