As a trucking company owner I can tell you the government knows nothing about how to run businesses. They limit us to 11 hours behind the wheel then a ten hour break then start over. So let's say my week begins at 600 am Monday morning. I'm done working at 7 pm then start at 5 am next day done at 6 then start at 4 am next day done at 5 start at 3. You see how you keep losing time to daylight? Forcing you to drive tired. ( There is a lot more to it than this but just a quick point)

At least not where In the places I lived. All adults just trying to get by. Teens don't work anymore. When I left Ca 3 years ago, I made 60k a year and could only afford a crappy tiny 1 bedroom Apartment. It's not like these Billion dollar companies can't afford to pay a barely living wage. News flash, the more money people make the more money they spend and the better off the economy of the country. Higher wages equates to more money paid in taxes so there is more money for bare basic like money for infrastructure and necessities like universal healthcare.
