Even more radical is that NEB is suing COLO for North Platte River ( COLO) water. They are planning to build a NEB dam located in COLO any day now for NEB use. Craziness.
The river's problem is simple. 40 million people relying on it. Let it flow. Take an amount from it it can afford. Know when to stop issuing irrigation licenses.
It's happening ppl. Start using less water. Take Mexico off the entitled list (since 1936) of receiving COLO river 💧cuz they are & have been in arerrers (+30 yrs) in giving Texas water in exchange for COLO water. Check out Colorado River Compact signed in 1922 by unscrupulous men who took $$ under the table. Native Americans were not at the table when the CRC was signed. (Treaty of Guadalupe gave natives the land & water.) Nor was the CRC ratified by COLO voters/ residents at the time. Read book Cadillac Desert. FYI We are not running out of water its the distribution, manipulation & condition of water that are the real issues. Earth has had the same amount for eons, now just more ppl requiring it.

If you look at the patterns of drought, drought is a reality that many would like to blame on climate change. If you are a serious thinker you will see this are not all to uncommon and mega droughts are a paramount feature. Increasing population in these states and demand for water should come to no surprise to anyone. These of us who live along the Front Range in CO know the importance of snow pack and our water supply. What is unfortunate about our society and leaders is long-term planning is not a feature until conditions begin to approach deep concern. Is there deep concern? Yes. Will we address this and correct this? Only time will tell.

Stop allowing places like St. George in Utah to drain the Colorado river for pointless things like golf courses and lawns IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT. Because the Colorado river was so deep for so long a time period most of the fish that can be found only in the Colorado River have died off . That was because it was way too cold for the fish . So the only way to save the fish is to lower the water level . So the water was let out of the Dam' s !
