There is a common explanation according to our own neoclassical capitalist system of economics: market manipulation due to monopolies. In other words an unfair market system, every time these problems are brought up people scream what are you a “socialist”.
This guy is wrong as to the moving of product. The US has land locked production like Kansas , Nebraska, and other states.and we still get it to market. DEVELOP ukraines Trucking and rail to deliver it through Poland.
The real reason prices are going up are the Commodaties speculators they turn a small shortage into a high proffit and never touch the product. They only buy and sell sticking it to the consumer.

We used to produce most of the fertilizers in the US and Oil, and many other products.
