It is true that one is more likely to get a job in the STEM subjects. But not always. My niece studied chemistry but ended working at Starbucks. Another relative studied business, accounting, etc. Now he drives a truck. Before he worked at a debt collection call center and at Walmart. When I studied at the university, they told me there were lots of jobs, but they do not come to you, you have to find them. And of course that is not really very good advice if one does not know where to look and does not know simple things like typing or computer text processing. But well, it might be better for many to go to business or trade schools, and not to universities. Or to take short programs like one or two years in a job skills program. I used to go to a community college where one could learn to be a barber or hairdresser. Or repair cars or computers. Probably anyone can find a job, but not necessarily with anything they learned at a university. Like the secretary who became head of a computer company. Presumably she got her qualifications at night school or in company training programs.

I have a child in college and I pay that tuition bill every semester. I would never ask someone else to pay that bill. College is a privilege not a necessity. STOP THE SPENDING!!
