Signs of a soft generation. I went through it on a 40-year-old aircraft carrier. Absolutely no air-conditioning for crew comfort, only equipment. We laid in our bunks sweating all night for 90 days straight in the Indian Ocean under sweltering conditions, working 14-hour days in a boiler room, engine room, etc. Sure, we griped now and then, but we snapped to and did our job until we completed our 4 year contract. We lived up to our word. We served our country and then got on with life.
