He lost by one of the largest landslides in American History. But, I never thought of him as a loser. When he ran against Reagan, it was just Pres. Reagan's time. I do remember the debate he had with Reagan. Mondale's people were trying to say that Reagan was too old to be President. In the debate, the moderator asked Reagan if he had any thoughts about the "Age Issue". Reagan said he did. Reagan said he promised not to hold Mondale's relative youth and inexperience against him. Even VP Mondale had to laugh.
