All debt forgiveness will do is encourage more people to attend expensive private universities while majoring in fields that have no job openings and partying hardy not caring at all if you pass or not since whatever debt you run up will just get forgiven. This is welfare for the deadbeat kids of the wealthy and it will further add to exorbitant university inflation. H*ll no! You want to bring college costs down? Make liberal arts professors understand the need for contact with reality in their curricula. No subsidies. No forgiveness of loans to AOC or the wealthy. Maybe if richly endowed private universities stopped getting all those legacies they would start caring about controlling costs.

Folks who tried my azz, they did ot to be given the money after paying for one semester of books. They get there remaining money, and quit within a week.
It's from all these people who took really stupid majors like the gender studies and find out there are no jobs except for teaching what learned. So they can't pay off their loans because no one wants to hire them. There's only so many positions at woke companies to hire these people, so most are unemployed or working at a fast food joint. And parents don't let your children take these stupid courses. It doesn't help anyone, only hurts them.

It's pretty easy to present each new student with a financial analysis comparing student loan costs to expected income from whatever degree they are pursuing. If they have an idea upfront what the cost / benefit ratio is, then there should be no complaining about having to pay it back. The entire Democratic party wants to hand taxpayer money to those who aren't productive in order to by votes. They are pathetic. The student loans are a great way to get an education on your own. BUT they are "LOANS" that require a signature of responsibility. They need to be repaid as any loan is to be repaid in a free society. A young person coming out into the world should not expect that he/she is "exempt" from taking care of their contractual financial obligations. That sends a wrong message right from the start. There is "no free ride." Somebody pays those loans.
