Seems illegal to me. I question whether why they called the K9 unit in the first place. What reasonable suspicion lead you to believe that a K9 unit was needed.
Jeez, it's 2022 and this still goes on?!? Was Don Imus one of the deputies? Matlock, Perry Mason, Saul Goodman would all have a field day if the deputies had found any drugs in a backpack: as in Illegal Search and Seizure, Probably Cause, etc. The American Southeast continues to ruin this country, as they have for the past 400 years. They searched personal property these cops need to be held accountable, and not investigate themselves. The Sheriff said they did not search personal property Duh. Disgraceful. there was NO alert. Dogs can't be trusted they go on the signals their trainer of the dog gives.

Of course there wasn't any drugs. They signal for the dog to alert or just say the dog did. Of course your not allowed to question or film what the alert is. Police fail to find anything 70+ % of the time the dogs alert.

This may be the first bus stop that turned into a drug search that i have ever heard of. They used the lie of a lane violation to search the bus.

Coke specifically. so, maybe cops were treating those women like the other college athletes?? dont know. white male college students do more drugs so they may be used to searching college athletes because they've found lots of drugs. ??? drug war is not to protect ppl anyway… they just want to make a bust.
This incident is now on the radar of the Delaware Attorney General..So it would be a good homework assignment for the girls to partner with the AG and submit a FOIA request for traffic stop records along that stretch of road..There may be some interesting research published.It always triggers curiosity when a K-9 "alerts" and then the search produces NO contraband.So a drug dog with a defective nose, or a pretextual police stop?
