It’s as if people didn’t notice that Trump was being rude, narcissistic, opportunist, or that it was simply OK because he was on their “side.”
People these days, sadly many who claim to be Christian, have jumped on the insult bandwagon as if it’s just ok to make fun of people you disagree with, because they are your enemy or somehow are not human.
I grew up a Christian, and was taught to “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This is not what Trevor Noah does, it’s not what Trump does, and it seems like we’ve raised a generation that also cares not to do so either. To make matters worse, we’ve created an entire INDUSTRY based around this destructive behavior. Look at the news, or social media, even YouTube. Yet people accept that the divisiveness this creates is acceptable, or they just don’t see the consequences of their actions.
What worries me most is that, given this new environment of divisiveness, a balanced, healthy, moral person, that would help bring unity, is no longer electable.
However, if you want a better world, it doesn’t start with President Trump, it starts by becoming the change you wish to see in the world. Behavior is contagious; be kind to others.
