Irvine police say the car of two suspected burglars had a device that flipped the license plate, shielding the numbers from any cameras. NBC Newsโ Steven Romo reports on how the suspect’s cover was blown after a tip from a witness who saw the car in an apartment complex.

What's the point of showing the plate on the camera and then hide them after….?
To be honest, I'm feeling somewhat proud of them. Still there's a reason why I don't. That flipping license plate should have had another plate on the other side: One of a car with the same color and type. That scheme was just but almost thought through.
