Well I'm working in super blue Colorado ( but from Texas) and there is massive gun violence. We even had a mass shooting last year at a grocery store in Boulder from a Syrian refugee. Denvers gun violence has increased 80%….

I really don't think it is appropriate that a sheriff that is a public official who feels they have the right, to go in front of a news channel to mandate policy. That is not their mandate! Their mandate is to serve and protect the public as a whole! They are there to enforce the law, not to govern over the law.
Every single politician that opposes gun laws should be immediately deployed to the site of these mass shootings to actually see what damage is done to the victims bodies and stand face to face with the family and loved ones as they informed their lives one has died. Texas literally has zero gun laws. As long as you're 18 w/ a government ID you're golden . Over 80 people have died ( mostly children) in Texas mass shootings since Greg Abbott became Governor. Keep in mind that he was upset when finding out. Texas was number 2 behind California in the number of guns they had. He actually Tweeted about it in 2016. Does anyone actually think Texas is going to do anything about what happened? It's all posturing. Ted Cruz received $300k in donations from the NRA when he was running for Senate. Keep in mind that this is the same state that doesn't want women to have bodily autonomy. It's also more difficult to purchase a cat than to buy a gun.
