Let’s not talk about the illegal drug use in the family. Let’s not talk about the broken, fatherless home. Let’s not talk about the degradation of traditional family values, personal responsibility or masculinity. Let’s not talk about the social isolation of our kids due to screen addiction. Let’s not talk any of the factors which contributed to this tragedy and focus entirely on the tool used in the final act so that we might pass a law that someone willing to commit murder will just break anyway.

Put a trained cop at a metal detector booth and another cop at another station behind that security check point desk/station. That way if an an active shooter shoots one officer the other one 20 ft behind him will stop him or atleast lock the Active shooter out and or call for back up from local authorities by pushing a panic button.
These brave children were incredibly brave to take the bullets of this killer so their mums, dads, grandparents and uncles have the right to bear arms!!

4 officers firing and "failing" before the gunman entered the school shows severe incompetence somewhere because of their failure to stop the gunman.

Start with NB, You have always known to supervise and check children , there has never been an excuse to add school children (non adult) to the mass shooting victim problem in the context of firearms control! Children do not have a point of such a right to that level of privacy such that narcotics or firearms be allowed to reach schools and school buses!

In my country Mexico to own weapons, you must have a permit from the Mexican army, who has the power to grant it or not, they do psychological tests, and check criminal records, and work environment in which you work.
Weapons are only used for legitimate defense at home, high-powered weapons are for the exclusive use of the army.
The United States should regulate the sale of weapons, through strict permits.
Unfortunately, the United States sells high-powered weapons to drug traffickers who then confront the Mexican army, (it has dismantled many cartels) the Mexican army cannot combat that monopoly that leaves great profits for US-American businessmen.
Everything is a business.
You should not profit from life.

If these children had been carrying concealed firearms, which is their God given right and their right under the Constitution of the United States, this tragedy could have been avoided or at least mitigated to some extent.
