Gun control would not have prevented this and the shooting in Buffalo, NY has the strictest gun laws in the nation yet it still happened has the shooter was able to buy an gun that was already banned in that state in the state of NY and pass a background test. The shooter in TX also passed a background test and had no history of mental illness and no criminal history. So he was able to buy a gun. Instead of blaming the NRA we need to make the local police department fully accountable for their failure. So please tell me how is this the NRA'S fault??????? Stop thinking we live in LALA land and live in safe clouds we do not.

We have fire drills in our schools…the alarm sounds loudly on the intercom system, the children immediately know what they need to do for their safety, the principal immediately calls fire and rescue and other authorities, assigned school personnel go to fire extinguisher stations throughout the school, if possible,extinguish or minimize the fire while emergency personnel are enroute, one scenario.

Where were all the protestors during last years Slaughter in the Cities? In Chicago alone, home of "some of the toughest gun laws in America", 276 CHILDREN were shot and 59 of them died … 40 more then what was killed in the Texas tragedy. How many of the criminal shooters went to jail? Not very many. Historically, the CPD has a closure rate of a bout 10% in crimes like these, and Chicago's Judges and prosecutors are reluctant to put violent criminals in jail. Concerning background checks … what good are they if you can LIE on one and nothing happens? If the laws already on the books aren't being enforced, what good are New laws?

Too many people have been killed by guns for years and the weapons of mass destruction are the problem. This entire world can no longer bear the horrors of weapons of mass destruction anymore, all weapons pose a greater threat to humanity, this world lives in fear of weapons harming human life. Wars and politics continue to destroy the world and it's humanity and this world cannot suffer anymore damage, it's time for all of us to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Mental health is the problem and it's out of control, it cannot be ignored, it has to be addressed and solved in a way to combat the dangers. The entire country is in mourning and is in a state of shock, too many people have died over the years due to gun violence and crime and our country's political system failed to act to keep us safe. For years the Republican party let this chaos go on for years and they have failed to act to keep our country safe due to the epidemic of gun violence and crime, because of them our country continues to be less safe when gun violence and crime continues to skyrocket in America and the people of this country continue to live in fear, the Republican party deserves more blame for not putting legislation that would've brought down gun violence and crime which would've give our country relief and too many people in America lost their lives because of the Republican party and their love for the 2nd amendment, NRA, greed, and money. The GOP have been tap dancing and flirting with the gun lobby and NRA for years and have gotten greedy to take their money and left the people of this country behind without passing legislation to prevent gun violence and crime from skyrocketing in America, because of the Republicans they have allowed the chaos to continue and a lot of lives are now lost and the people of this country has had enough. Times have changed, and the laws must be changed to adapt to current social circumstances, back in 70 years ago, we do not have so many mental kids, and teens walking around and shooting people. You can argue that guns are not bad, people are bad, but many factors contributed to it. Deadly Weapons are the most contributing factors to causing mass murder. Guns and rifles are not bad but their functions are designed for mass killings. No polices and no laws can prevent mental people from having access to guns, so what do you argue for? what is your point? if policies and laws cannot prevent mental or bad guys from having guns, then these school shootings will never be ended in the United States. Period. The money and power of business of the NRA has been bloodshed throughout American society for such long, but no governments, no laws, no humanity can be changed in such a country that is proud of human rights and freedom. No ones want to exchange that freedom for the death of your children.

We don't have guns in the UK, but there are plenty of shootings. Those upset outside the hall seem to be blaming the NRA, yet it was not one of their members who shot them children and teachers, it was a mentally ill boy who gained access to the gun.
