During closing arguments in Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Camille Vasquez, one of Depp’s attorneys, accused Heard of being the abuser during their marriage, saying that the 2016 report of domestic abuse filed against Depp was “a set up,” adding “there is an abuser in this courtroom, but it is not Mr. Depp.”

Abusive men don't invite their partners friends to live freely anywhere near them. Abusive men isolate their victims. Abusive men don't emotionally fall apart. Their victims do. Abusive men feel empowered and grow stronger with they have a victim to abuse. Victims don't chase their abusers around the house demanding to continue an argument. They are the ones hiding, running or remaining silent. Victims don't demand or tell their abuser when to go to bed, when to get up, what or how much they can drink or where they can go. That's what abusers do.
