I remember Obama likened gun control, to the safety measures and restrictions placed on automobiles… first of all, driving an automobile is a privilege, not a right. Gun ownership is a right. Obama tried to make the argument that certain individuals who hold dangerous beliefs should not be allowed to own guns. I think we all know what the government tries to do to the rights of those that hold contrary opinions and question the narratives of the powers that be. They’re not shy about impinging upon your rights, and they’re not above demonizing the beliefs of others.
An armed teacher will becomes the first designated target for the shooter to kill and anyone with a gun a potential suspect/shooter for LEO to neutralize. This will not end well for teachers.

I come from a country in which there are laws against guns. The citizen does not own a gun.

In the Constitution the founders gave Congress the power, "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;"
Why did they do that? Because they knew that bad people with guns could destroy a good government. In other words it takes a good militia with guns to stop bad insurrections with guns. The founders saw it fist hand. The Tories were colonists who took up arms against the patriots in order to fight for King George the tyrant. So the founders enacted the Tory Act of 1776 and with that act the biggest gun confiscation we ever saw began. The confiscated guns were given to the militiamen who did not have arms and other confiscated guns were sold to help buy items needed to fight King George's tyrannical army. The founders knew that bad people with arms represented a threat to this nation and so in the constitution they gave the congress the power to call up the militia to defend the nation from evil Americans with guns.
And as you would have it, it came to pass that men in the south were raised under the impression that they had a right to deprive other men of their rights. Now today we call that a rights conflict. You see my rights end at the point that they began to infringe of the rights of others and vise versa. But those old slave owners, well they were raised to believe that their rights were supreme and slaves had no real rights. These slave owners had a tyranny over slaves and they felt that was their right to do so. But when our good government made plans to end that tyranny over slaves, those old slave owners took up arms against that good government in an insurrection. Thus the civil war began.
An armed people have choices, they can defend their nation or they can destroy their nation. Guns don't kill people, people using guns kill people. With rising hatred in this country we are nearing another insurrection. If it happens learn to speak Chinese because China will be opening farms all over this country when we destroy ourselves.
I think people are commiting mass shootings while they still can, or maybe they are doing it just to make guns illlegal, like a self fulfilling prophecy. Dont give up your guns, your probably going to need them when a dictator comes on the scene.

Proper gun control laws will stop many criminals and nut jobs from getting guns. Republicans install loopholes and easy access gun laws which allow criminals and nut jobs to get guns then Republicans have the audacity to say that laws don't work. Republicans have damaged laws with loopholes. But hey tell the NRA to follow that BS logic and allow guns at their conventions. I mean if rules, regulations, prohibitions and laws don't work then why does the NRA establish rules prohibiting guns at their conventions? The NRA has a no gun rule because the NRA knows that their rhetoric about laws not working is a BS lie. Anyway by Republican logic we should not have any laws against murder, rape, robbery or any other criminal behaviors because Republicans argue that despite such laws people still commit murder, rape, robbery and such. So by Republican logic since laws don't work 100% of the time then we should not have any laws at all. There should be no traffic laws because despite speed limits, stop signs and such a few people still speed and run stop signs. So according to Republicans such traffic laws are pointless. But the fact is a great deal more people obey the law than people who break the law. And one major reason people obey the law is because they fear the punishment. Ever see a robber rob a store and wait for the police to arrive? No, criminals run from the police because they don't want to face the punishment. And it's that fear of punishment that stops many other people from violating the law. If we make rape and murder legal then rape and murder would simply skyrocket. The real world is far different than Republicans think.
Still Republicans argue that gun laws don't work 100% of the time and therefore you can't regulate people's behavior 100% of the time so therefore it's pointless to pass gun laws. They say that despite the regulations on guns and behavior some people will still get guns and use guns to kill. And it's true that some people will break laws. Yes, we have laws against murder and yet people get murdered. What Republicans don't want to admit however is that laws do in fact deter the vast majority of people from committing crimes. Why? Because people don't want to face the punishment. But some Republicans aren't stupid and they already know this and that's why they want laws against abortion. Yes Democrats could argue that laws against abortion won't work 100% of the time and that despite such laws some women will still get abortions and therefore laws against abortion are futile and unwise. But you won't see Republican argue such BS logic against abortion laws because they know better, they know that laws do in fact work. Still every time a Republican mentions abortion or immigration Democrats should act like Republicans and say, "Let's not get political."
Speaking of immigration we could look to illegal immigration to argue that laws don't work. We have laws against entering this country illegally and laws against hiring illegal immigrants. But the sad fact is that many people and our leaders have made a complete joke out of those laws. Republicans have passed seven, count them, 7 amnesties. Do you know what an amnesty is? It's a form of forgiveness, it's a way of saying to hell with our laws. Amnesty is a loud announcement that we don't give a damn about our laws. Private sale loopholes on guns is a bold proclamation that some states have declared war on US law. The Republican party is such a disgusting party of liars that does everything it can to sabotage laws and then they have the audacity to say, "Look at those laws, (the very laws they destroyed) those laws don't work, we don't need failed laws." I for one am totally surprised that Republicans aren't looking at those children who were murdered and saying, "look at those broken children, they don't function properly any longer, they are useless, just stick them in the ground and forget them." And indeed that's exactly what we as a nation will do, stick them in the ground and forget them.

It's an existing gun law which could be used to easily identify people who shouldn't have a gun yet are willing to lie in order to obtain one. To "lie and try" is a felony. I understand that his happens quite often and when it does you literally have the information, signature and an ID check of the person who attempted it. Seems like vigorous prosecution would serves as a real world measure and a deterrent that could results in keeping a significant amount of illegal guns out of the hands of bad people. So how often are those prosecuted?"
