Here's a thought: The oil business is a very Republican business, but it is also a National security Interest, so the oil companies don't operate with total independence. There is always an element of Government control. When a Democrat wins office, the oil companies jack the prices to help the Republicans win the next election.

During my last "recession" in 2008, I was paying $3.79 a gallon. Today we pay alot more. When gas goes up the cost of common goods go up(inflation). Supplements are given to the rich and the poor. What about us who work for a living?

I live in Oklahoma and worked on drilling rigs all through the 1970's. One thing I learned is that everything is done to achieve maximum profits for the petroleum companies. I worked on many rigs where we hit good sands, which would produce a good quantity of oil, or gas, but the petroleum company that owned the lease would have us cap off the well for later because it wouldn't make enough profit. I still live around these wells and most are still capped off. The only time I have not seen at least 6, or 7 drilling rigs from my house, except from the bust in the oil boom in the early 80's is now. I also own royalties on wells that produce very high amounts of both oil, and gas and I always received big checks. Now that oil is the highest price per barrel it has ever been my royalty checks have dried up to nothing, even though they are still producing very well. Here is the truth about the high gas prices at the pump and the soaring price of groceries that have to be hauled by semi-truck. The petroleum companies are making the largest profits they have made in a lot of years. They own many, many hundreds of acres of royalty they know would produce good product. They have shut down all new drilling and are sitting on the preserves they have so they can raise the price at the pump to a ridiculous amount, even though it hurts the American public. This high cost of diesel fuel to transport groceries and other goods are passed on to the consumers. The majority of this inflation and all of the high gas prices are the result of petroleum companies gouging for even more profit. To all of those who blame Biden for the price of gas & diesel all I have to say is you are easily mislead and should be careful not to fall into the trump cult.
People….bear with me. This is good news. We must go green or die. Prepare to do without as the only green energy is, walking. Batteries are incredibly dirty and we waste a lot of fossil fuel to charge them and we only get back a fraction of the energy we burnt to charge them. Sorry, that's just the laws of thermodynamics.
