Osprey MV-22 are replacing C2 Greyhound COD( Carrier Onboard Delivery) as main transport aircraft to/from aircraft carriers.
The currently only identified person who died in this crash is from my hometown…makes me feel ill seeing this video. Prayers to his family and all of the other families who lost a loved one.
Osprey kills again. Take these things out of service already.

These things keep crashing, they're death traps. And how can the officials keep saying they mourn the losses, if they actually felt bad they'd stop flying them. This should be considered on purpose at this point.
That appears to be Imperial, CA near El Centro. That is where MV-22s conduct reduced visibility landings. As you might guess there are many hazards associated with these types of landings in a desert. All the sand being blown around from the rotor wash makes it very hard for the pilots to see anything. Also all that sand blowing around can get sucked into the intakes and cause other mechanical issues. Judging from the wreckage this aircraft was not in the process of landing or taking off. Either way we need to keep these Marines and their families in our prayers
Hated working on those death traps
The Osprey are neither a helicopter or an airplane. The fatal accidents occur during the dangerous transition stage transitioning from one mode to the other. Not enough air speed or air cushion, and they drop like a rock. These death traps are INHERENTLY DANGEROUS, and should be phased out of operational use. Where is military leadership?
That thing is a death trap. The Corps needs to shitcan those birds fast.

Knowingly putting our soldiers back up in these already proven faulty deathbirds is basically choosing their eventually execution. There’s zero reason this happened, it’s known as faulty and is a giant airborne game of russianroulette.
