Incidents Of Child Drownings Continue To Rise



From 2017 to 2019 the average number of child drownings have increased and now concerns have heightened amid a summer shortage of lifeguards and heatwaves rippling across the country. NBC News’ John Torres details how to prevent drowning or react to an emergency.

  7. You NEVER take your eyes off your kids in a Pool setting. People assume the Lifeguard is watching intently. Never ASSUME.

    What practical use do they have?

  12. I'll take door #3. I'd be curious to know the percentage of kids 6 thru, say 15, that know how to swim today vs the same age group from the 1960s. I'd bet it's considerably less today.
