None of the new laws or reform stops a 18 year old or any felon from ordering a P80 online and assemble his/her own gun, then taking the gun out for mass shootings.
While there is no magic bullet (pun fully intended) this is going to create more problems than it solves. Now you can't trust your partner or your doctor. Veterans like guns. They make us feel safe because we know first hand what can happen. I mean look at what our government is doing. Veterans have already lived in countries with governments like ours. Unfortunately those experiences screwed us in the head. I personally know a multitude of veterans who will stop treatment because of this and more who will never start because of this. Over the years some have killed themselves, some are in prison, and most are just fine. For my next battle buddy that comes home and gets hit with ptsd loses it and kills someone will we have another debate about did they need to die and why didn't they get help? Guess we can cross that bridge next election cycle.
Looking at the majority of insane comments on this story, I doubt that any significant gun control legislation will ever be passed again here in America and this saddens me greatly.
