Rice (and any others who lost their primary to Trump stooges as the following more or less applies to them as well) should stay in as an independent and court the Democratic and moderate/centrist vote. His district is too red for a Democratic candidate to have a chance so it might be worth it for Dem voters to at least consider voting for Rice instead in order to block Trump's stooge. Rice received ~25% of the vote in his primary. If he could retain that support or near it, there are enough registered Dems in his district to potentially give him the majority. It would definitely be a long shot but giving it a go might at least help remind people of the concepts of cooperation and compromise which used to be a thing not so long ago.
Maybe Biden can campaign with some Democrat incumbents. I'm sure he'll have the same effect.
