While I think it's important for Garland to identify this as a hate crime and his pledge to to prosecute it as such is welcome, but he's got bigger fish to fry and he's doing nothing apparent about them.

That's tells other potential witnesses, that they have 50 percent chance to spit on Congress subpoenas, without consequences.
