They only get paid from the time the door closes and from the time the door opens again and they donāt get paid for the time they have to spend in the airports. Thereās been a serious understaffing issue this year which makes you wonder how many pilots theyāre going to push through and not train sufficiently enough š¤¦š½āāļø they canāt find people to recruit bc the pay is š©!! All you have to do is watch a few videos of airline passengers' behaviour and you would realize why flight attendants are quitting/retiring and few are replacing them. Add to this the cost of fuel and it will be years if ever before flying returns to a pre-pandemic reliability.
