Oil companies are not the enemy. They provide the basis for a myriad of products we rely on including fuel. If they make huge profits, so be it. It has been proven, when we ease regulations and let them carry out the complicated task of finding, mining, and refining fuel, the price we pay is kept at a reasonable level. We cannot just mandate a magical transformation to renewable energy overnight. Seems to me, we are headed in the right direction, but we just don't have the technology quite worked out yet. (Incidentally, I drive an electric car, but it is impractical, was bad for the environment to build in the first place, and will be an additional environmental nightmare when it reaches the end of it's useful life.)
We elect our leaders and they are supposed to work for us. Let's try to elect some reasonable people, not impetuous, uninformed, angry folks who refuse to take responsibility for their actions.
