Texas Director of Public Safety Steve McCraw testified on Tuesday before a state Senate committee investigating the Uvalde shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers. McCraw accused law enforcement of putting the lives of officers over the lives of children.

Law enforcement officers often consider themselves responsible for protecting the public and deterring criminal activity. However, (thanks to our SCOTUS), the legal doctrine that specifies the legal duty of law enforcement officers holds that they indeed have a duty to the public but not to individual citizens. It's called the Public Duty Doctrine. These cops will not be prosecuted. WROL is not what you might think.
