If oil companies are going to artificially create a gas shortage by reducing their refinery production, they should at least stop influencing the production of electric cars in the USA. They can't have it both ways.

Obama said years ago gas tax holiday is a slap in the face. This administration is useless. Democrats are going to face the consequences in the midterms and presidential election. No amount of gushing about 1/6 is going to distract anyone from Bidens incompetence.
Is this a joke? My gas tank for example holds 11 gallons of gas. Saving 11 cents in total is a Band-Aid of a solution and this is only temporary. It baffles me how law makers are so out of touch with reality and how they do not fix the root of the problem. When gas is $7+ a gallon saving a few cents will not make things better. Gas should not be that high in general or if the government wants everyone to move towards electric vehicles they need to have incentives for making them financially accessible by the general population since they do not grow on trees.
The tax going towards road maintenance is a joke too. Many states in the US for instance have I-Pass (or equivalents under another name) and this money goes towards highway maintenance. It does not require a degree in political science nor is it rocket science. They really cannot expect us to be this gullible which is quite offensive and laughable.

Fed tax: 18.4 cents/gl
State tax CA: 51.1 cents/gl
Sales tax : 10 cents/gln
Underground storage fee: 2 cents/gl
Fuels Under the Cap fee (Cap&Trade): 15 cents/gl
Low Carbon Fuel Standard fee: 22 cents/gl
18.4 + 51.1+10+2+15+22= $1.19 per gallon
