Every holiday we get something like this. Then a bunch of politicians will pretend they care then want more ways to disarm the public.
Over 60 shooting and 15 dead in the previous 48 hours in the same city and crickets on that. Those shootings don't fit their agenda, this one does.
Where ever human beings exist is where it can happen. I’ve been hearing that “we never thought something like that could happen here” on the news for years. Too many people have a segregated mind frame of crime and criminality. And it’s still being reinforced to this very day.

How could a resident of Orlando think it couldn't happen to them. The Pulse nightclub shooting happened there. Parkland happened not that far from there. You're not safe anywhere now.

Why isn't anyone mentioning that Highland Park is one of the most heavily Jewish-populated parts of Chicago and would therefore prove an attractive target for a Nazi white supremacist murderer such as this Cimino is most likely to be? Otherwise he would have targeted more racially diverse nearby areas like Evanston if Jews were not his primary target.

I was hoping that hearing gunfire was only a possibility when I was deployed overseas.
I can’t even go to Walmart without a loud noise setting me off; sending my adrenalin through the roof.
Mind you I’m not being over dramatic. The El Paso shooter went to highschool with me, a grade below in Plano. I spent time overseas and have my own anxieties associated with the sounds of war. These shootings don’t seem close to home until they are.
