I know precisely what NRA says and does. I was a member for many years (when it really was a sporting gun "club" rather than a political entity. And, having worked at the UN, I've watched NRA representatives argue the "globalization" of our 2nd Amendment before convened gatherings of representatives from all over the world trying to get a grip on the massive spread of small arms throughout the developing world. NRA is either clueless to the problems facing many countries experiencing violent conflict or they don't give a damn. I suspect the latter.
