Frankly I’m surprised that the Congresswoman’s surprised that Justice’s surprised. It suggests that Justice is probably already investigating (which is good) and is expecting some form of coordination with or cooperation from the committee, but all it’s being met with is a ton of public pressure to act on these testimonies with great haste.
I only wonder happens when Justice declines to comment on whether or not an investigation is ongoing and one of the subjects of those investigations is compelled to testify under oath, but is prevented from commenting on an ongoing matter under gag order. That would leave Justice awfully embarrassed and of course the committee would almost certainly never comment on that publicly, but then it also leaves them in a quandary with the pace and production of these hearings.
