In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that a former Washington public high school football coach had a right to pray on the school’s field after games. The majority opinion of the court was that the school district discriminated against the coach’s right to private religious speech by firing him.» Subscribe to NBC News: http://nbcnews.to/SubscribeToNBC

The word of God need to be in schools
So does this mean that someone can pray to Allah or Buddha or Krishna on a football field? Or is this ruling limited to Jesus?
Private religious speech from a Goverment employee on Goverment grounds. Lool.
BRAVO
If you see the picture where he is praying in the middle of the football field While people are walking around as if the game is over. what was the point. As if he wanted attention
I understand the Constitution advocates Freedom of Religion. However, it does not advocate putting your Religion in the face of others. Actually if these Religious hypocrites would READ THE BOOK, they would come across the Part where "Christ" told his Apostles that praying in seclusion is what God Accepts. JESUS never advocated a PUBLIC DISPLAY OF FAITH. Actually, when he told the Apostles to "Spread the Good News" he said If, people were not accepting, to kick the dust from their SANDALS and move on" 🤦🏼♀️. If only these Religious Freaks would "READ THE BOOK"!!!!
I bet you if he was jewish, or Muslim they probably never would have fired him at all.
Freedom of religion!
If people can express their sexuality At school, a prayer should be allowed! Part of our constitution!
Treaty of Tripoli 1792
The United States of America is not a Christian Nation
John Adams Founding Father and 2nd President of the United States of America.
I heard something different. I heard the coach tried to get other students to pray.
Far left democrat racism in full effect her
It’s crazy how was this even taken so far that it had to involve the Supreme Court. Waste of time and money
You don't really have to pray, usually after a game you just try to find some way to come together with the opposing team and share a moment. It's just how us humans communicate, we use prayers to unite us. Those prayers can be a variety of things as well.
I think usa has run out of problems to solve so they are creating new ones
How will they react when a satanist does some kind of religious activity on the field after a game? Can’t wait to see how that goes down.
Awesome—-common sense and Constitutional rights prevail—hope the coach sues the school district for millions—-rotten filthy immoral school administrators s/b fired and lose retirement rights!
Colin Kaepernick is owed
a huge apology. He got fired for kneeling against police brutality but the coach is allowed to now pray.
I literally support democrats on everything…. But I think this is okay… idk why it wouldn’t be
What’s wrong with that. We don’t have the right pray anymore. I’m from Washington and people aren’t mad at him. Why can’t we pray and believe anymore I’m truly confused.
Are they going to allow Jews, Muslims other religions to do the same or is only for Christians. I Iive in Seattle not too far from Bremerton. I thought there was a separation of church and state. When I was in high school we were not allowed to meet on school grounds for any religious activities. I belonged to a group called Young Life so we met in people's homes. If they not going to allow other religions to do the same I guess tells us only Christians are allowed.
It’s at will employment so the school can still fire people like this. Just don’t tell them a reason. You don’t really need a reason to fire people/resign from a job when it’s at will employment.
This is what’s going to the Supreme Court? Really?
Ephesians 6:12 KJV: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world …
I think he should do his praying in private.
I'm on the fence. As a non Christian, I think it's wrong to lead prayer as a team tradition even if people can opt out. That's how you begin to make non Christian people on the team feel alienated and isolated based on religion. In this case, there is a question of what you can do and what you should do.
SCOTUS is not particularly visionary. What will happen when a coach prays to "all mighty Satan" or the "Sun god." They will crap themselves.
There, it's settled. Taking a knee at the game is acceptable. ✊🏿✊🏽✊✊🏾✊🏿✊🏼
I only saw democrats publicly kneeling down recent years, including Biden. It was for BLM.
Once again christians get more rights while the rest of us get someone else's religion shoved down our throats
Maybe Colin Kaepernick need to take it to the Supreme Court😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Maybe God enjoyed the conversation and didn’t like Washington courts interrupting.🤗
The Sch District is confused
Thank God we have a God based supreme court. This is why God is punishing this country. These demorat God haters. Midterms a vote for patriots is a vote for god
Re: Jan.6 hearing Breaking news! Emergency (unscheduled) hearing on Tues. Jan. 28 @12:00 noon. New evidence found. Who is new person coming forward?
So what if coach was a muslim reciting prayers from the quran and bowing on the football field? Or a jew praying with a tallit over their head and blowing a ram horn? I get how he is just kneeling but if we really want to talk about first amended rights, these other examples should be viewed and just as protected right?
Should never have been fired in the first place. How embarrassing for the local school district to let such a clearly losing case go all the way to the Supreme Court.
I want to see a student, teacher or coach spread a Muslim prayer mat out on a field or court after a game, face Mecca and praise Allah.
We thank God that the court is not restricting our right to pray to our Creator.
Misleading news – "immediately following" is wrong. He becomes a citizen after the team meeting, which is when he went back onto the field to prey. There's YouTube of this event… sad yall can't get the "news" correct
Well, this is one time that I think the court got it right. THE ONLY ONE!
