I met Stuart Rhodes at an event on Lexington Green in Lexington Massachusetts back around 2010. Lexington Green is where the first battle of the American Revolution was fought. One thing we did there was to retake our oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic". I had taken that oath myself when I joined the US military and repeating it on Lexington Green was a very emotional experience. At that time my impression was that the Oath Keepers were people who were concerned that the United States was moving away from its traditional values and founding principles and that the US Constitution was being eroded. And to be frank I myself still feel that way. However, at that time they did not come across as unusually extreme or potentially violent. But now its 12 years later and it appears that many things may have changed.
This country has yet to change since the mass murders, rapes, tortures, theft, diseases and lies to many millions of Native People who were living their lives just fine till white christians (lowercase purposely). So sick of hearing this country was built on this and that. It was built on all of the above horrific events. Who are these preachers that because they read from an fictious book live in luxury while children and animals die slow painful deaths of starvation, abuse and neglect? Why keep making them richer and richer? Doesn't your Loving god say to give up your wealth to the needy and follow him?
