Systemic problem that goes much deeper than the coward cops who refused to confront a madman, even as 10 year olds called 9-1-1 begging for relief. Cop culture dictates "brothers before others" instead of serving the public. 1. Stop the cop FOP….way too much power has coalesced in the cop union, and, as we see in Uvalde, no matter what they do, cops are not accountable for anything 2. Decline the Blue Lyin' – these folks operate with just slightly more dignity than the I-talian mafia. 3. Abolish qualified immunity- power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. 4. empower citizen oversight. It's not the perfect fix but it will go a very long towards pulling these out of control folks back towards equilibrium.
A 22 year old man stopped a mall shooter armed with an AR-15, the bystander had literally just a Glock. When a 22 year old bystander, in a mall, in America, can stop a shooter from killing more people after already killing 3, but a POLICE FORCE dressed like bootleg navy seals do nothing, it really shows that something has gone wrong-
That city needs a whole new police department!

Sorry, but your anger is directed at the wrong people. School boards are not involved in public safety or policing. Direct your anger at elected officials and law enforcement.
A lock at a school I can’t even believe them saying that a lock at a school that has innocent kids in it where school shootings in the last years have went up double and your telling me that they left the door lock knowingly broke for months that beyond sickening that absolutely horrific to think that our school can’t fix their locks that they didn’t practice this but the lock being broke is by far that most sickening thing I’ve heard about all of this them innocent kids died cause of our law forces failure and not just them the schools failure to apply safety and replace and fix such simple things that are put there to save a stop intruders

PARENTS – This Fall Semester, maybe before the first day of school concerned parents should convocate a meeting with your children's school board and examine step by step what is in place to prevent unknown persons from entering schools or access to the grounds. Sounds like many were "asleep at the switch", especially the school. When police have to be called for an active situation…it's TOO late. Grill now not cry later.
