  11. it was his own safety he neglected.. your never supposed to handle any large snakes alone for this reason. almost everyone who owns a snake or knows about them know this very clearly. some people think they are very skilled and are the exception to the rule, but why? why not just be safe then sorry? just don’t. that’s it.

  17. Once the animal is wild, undomesticated, feral take caution when caring for it, it will never be a pet.

  18. It really doesn't matter if your intentions are altruistic in nature, when helping a wild animal/reptile. You need to be prepared to defend yourself in the worst case, if you intend to help more animals/reptiles in the future.
    In this case, it does seem like a good knife, close at hand, might have saved the young man's life.
    The goal of saving/rehabilitating the snake was noble in nature, but be prepared for the worst … even if you're not a Boy Scout.

  19. If you have small kids plus a constrictor snake like a boa or python as a house pet, that is "no bueno".
