In September 2018, unarmed Black teenager Anton Black fled from police in Greensboro, Maryland. Black’s death was ruled an accident. One connection between George Floyd’s case and Anton Black’s was that Maryland’s former Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. David Fowler signed off on Anton’s autopsy report and also defended Derek Chauvin saying George Floyd’s cause of death was ‘undetermined.’ Now, one expert is raising the issue of in-custody police deaths and the lack of a central database to monitor how many people die in custody.

Dateline seems to always leave out informative information. For a investigative news program they never seem to give the whole story. Why was Anton having a confrontation with a 12 year old child? People were Alameda enough to call 911. If it was all innocent Why did he run from the police? It's sad to say but in most cases when someone runs from a police officer there's a reason. Please don't be offended I'd just like to know the complete story
I am appalled at the number of commenters who have made some rather serious assumptions based on absent, unclear or incomplete information. Isn't that law enforcement job?
What lead up to the stop 1st? 2nd why did he run? It's to be accountability on both ends. Young men around his age, let me tell you something I learned. You can put run that cop but that radio is always faster….. It's not a game out here with these cops.

It is more common than what's reported. In my case I survived strangulation from an officer with both his hands while I was handcuffed.There's videos and testimony from another officer. But not all the evidence was presented. The case was lost in federal court. Now on appeal for damages in state court, but lawyers have come up with a settlement of $20,000. They're presuring me to sign. They will first get their cut of about $17,000 and I'd still have to pay for the city's attorney fees, keep my mouth shut, ( not to talk bad about city councilors, mayor, police, or these officers that almost killed me). Also if DA decides to file charges I'd have to pay for their defense. The only thing these my lawyers forgot was that I would also pay for everyone's Disneyland trip.

If he were white the media wld have paid this death no mind and neither would dateline……At this point, the family has been visited by an ambulance chaser and sees a golden opportunity…..George Floyd was cold-blooded murderer but what was NEVER made clear to the public is Floyd and the arresting officer shared a sour history/relationship….Trump's advisors begged him to address the nation and clarify this to the protesters, but he refused. This death was a tragic accident that the victim played a crucial role…..Sadly even with the deaths of these many young black men by police officers throughout the country, NONE of the Civil Rights Leaders or the BLM founders have made NO efforts to effectively combat the issue at hand. Make a public service video with the goal of educating these young men b/c they treat the police with 0 respect b/c they see no difference btwn them and men/women in blue….Educate them that there is a significant difference and explain the difference….what should they do when stopped by a police officer and what action they should take if they believe their rights have been violated.
