Oh no I forgot to charge my gun:/
yeah have law enforcement and the army use the same smart weapons -__- including the presidents security detail
It might keep a kid from causing an accidental discharge, which is good but it does nothing to correct the root problem, which is keeping it away from them in the first place.
Bad guys usually bring their own guns so no help there.
Two-thirds of all gun deaths are suicides. It might prevent an unauthorized user from killing themselves with that particular firearm but you still have a suicidal person.
A Google search will turn up several news stories about kids defending their homes and loved ones with firearms. Rare occurrences, sure but at least the only ones harmed in those cases were the bad guys. The stories might have been quite different had their efforts been stopped by "smart" gun technology.
Absolutely useless if the authorized user decides to commit a crime.
Not to mention some pretty serious privacy concerns.
With the Biden administration asking for specific information in order to help track firearms and help to establish a registry (which is illegal) why should the citizenry trust government when they willingly break federal law?
How about an Apple Airtag tracker built into the gun, so if it is stolen, it can be tracked by GPS.
The is good and bad idea cause what if one day someone that can't unlock the gun needs to defend them self they can't because it's locked and the person who can shoot it is not around
"4 digits, which is 5000 combinations or something''
Are we supposed to trust a person who can't count ?
very simple reason this will not work. Gun owners don't want it. the people who support it don't buy guns.
Just like the war on drugs the war on guns will go nowhere it's easier to buy drugs from a dealer then get a prescription and it's easier to buy a dirty gun then walking into a gun store to do it
Why don't the police use them if it's so effective?
Arm the Children
Go after criminals not non criminals
This is a very great idea
3 buttons, 4 inputs… 3^4 is 81. not 5000.
how about not more than 1 x 50rd box of ammo per month per person? MUCH better idea since it's an actual solution.
Toomuch of a social experimental.
Tell everyone the cost of these weapons!
Won't work it has been debunked before
Terrible idea what if you need the gun and only your wife or husband can use because it only recognizes you? And your love one gets killed because of no access
It's all fun and games until your house is being robbed and you can't defend yourself because the police remotely disabled your weapon because your son sought counseling for being bullied.
We have "smart cars" on roads and road rage and crashes are somehow even more common. This is just another way the government wants control over the people. Isn't there already enough technology tracking you everywhere you go?
My so called smart phone does what ever it wants turns on by itself takes pictures by itself
